Jab woh aadhyatmik roop material mein aata hai, toh ek nanhi chingaari ban jaata hai, baal ke sire ka ek das-hazaarwaan hissa, jaisa ek Upanishad naapti hai.
Bahut log "main sthool shareer hoon" chhod kar "main man hoon" pakad lete hain. Shastra aur gehre kaatte hain. Aap sthool shareer aur sookshma shareer dono ke paar ho. Aap atma ho.
Mrityu par sthool shareer gir jaata hai. Woh sirf prithvi, jal, agni, vayu, aakash tha, aur ek arth mein kabhi jeevit hi nahi tha. Sookshma shareer atma ko agle shareer tak le jaata hai. Man, buddhi aur ahankaar saath aate hain, par naye shareer ke hisaab se reset ho jaate hain. Jo saabut bachta hai woh hain man mein jama impressions, yaani samskaras. Woh aapke saath jaate hain. Isi liye ek jagah jahan aap kabhi nahi gaye, jaani-pehchaani lag sakti hai, jise hum déjà vu kehte hain. Impression us shareer se hai jo aapne pehle pehna tha. Mrityu ke pal kya hota hai?
Marte samay aap jiska dhyaan kar rahe ho, wahi ban jaate ho. Krishna Gita (8.6) mein saaf kehte hain: "Mrityu ke samay jo bhaav yaad karta hai, hey Kunti-putra, woh bhaav use bina chook ke milta hai."
Mrityu ek pareeksha hai. Saal bhar jo padha woh hall mein saamne aata hai. Aapka pura jeevan saamne se guzarta hai, aur jo soch aapne sabse zyada abhyas ki woh upar uthti hai. Jisne pura jeevan Bhagwan ko yaad kiya, bhakti ki, dodoon ki madad ki, use ant mein wahi hothon par milta hai. Jab Mahatma Gandhi ko goli lagi, jo naam unke mukh se nikla woh "Ram" tha, kyunki jeevan bhar ki bhakti ne use unki sabse swabhaavik soch bana diya.
Karma kya hai, aur uske teen prakaar kaun se?
Karma bas karm aur pratikriya hai. Daswi manzil ki khidki se koodo aur karm tooti haddiyon ke roop mein laut-ta hai. Jo ise saadharan kaaran-prabhav se gehra banaata hai woh ye ki karma janmon ke paar jaata hai. Iske teen prakaar hain.

Woh char niyam jo vikarma todta hai: na maans-machhli-ande; na nasha; na jua; na avaidh sambandh. (Aur stree-purush shareeron ke alag kartavya hote hain, koi ooncha-neecha nahi.)
Teesra prakaar hi rahasya hai. Karma mein "a" jodo aur phal gayab. Khaana lo, jise koi nahi taal sakta. Maara hua pashu wali diet vikarma hai. Sattvic diet, taaza aur prakritik, jitna kam ho sake utna nuksaan, ped sirf zaroorat par, woh punya hai. Par aap usi karm ko akarma mein utha sakte ho: pehle bhojan Bhagwan ko arpan karo, aur woh prasad ban jaata hai, pavitra bhojan. Prasad khaana baandhta nahi. Woh aadhyatmik lok ki taraf kheenchta hai. Jaise Krishna Gita (3.13) mein kehte hain, "Bhagwan ke bhakt saare paapon se mukt ho jaate hain kyunki woh pehle yagya mein arpit bhojan khaate hain. Doosre, jo apne sukh ke liye pakate hain, sirf paap khaate hain." Ek saadharan shakaahari bhi thoda paap khaata hai, kyunki paudhe jeevit hain, jab tak bhojan pehle arpit na ho.
Ye sirf bhojan ke liye nahi, har cheez ke liye chalta hai. Khud Krishna ki chetawni (Gita 4.17): "Karm ki gehraai samajhna bahut kathin hai. Insaan ko theek se jaanna chahiye ki karm kya hai, nishedh karm kya, aur akarm kya." Karma sach mein mushkil hai.
